The Remote

Link switchable factory tools, operate them as a group, and isolate why a Remote setup appears missing or broken.

Current controlsv1.0.5

Quick answer

Equip the Remote, aim at a known switchable tool, and press F to link it. Link devices one at a time, test the group, and unlink a device before moving or redesigning it. The Remote controls linked on/off tools; it is not the same system as the Signal tool.

QuestionCurrent result
How do I link a device?Aim at a switchable tool and press F; the same interaction can unlink it.
What has been shown working?Multiple Fans linked to one Remote and switched together for a staged release.
How is the Remote reportedly unlocked? One current wiki reports toggling three different tools at the same time. Treat this as a community result until the full-release unlock notification is captured.
Does it replace Signal? No. Signal adds grouping or channel capability; it is a separate system.

Compatibility limit

Fans are the clearest documented device. For other tools, test the physical switch first, then link one device at close range before adding it to a group.

How to link and test

Equip the Remote

Confirm it is the active held tool, not merely unlocked or visible in the shop.

Aim at one switchable tool and press F

Stand close, target the tool’s control area, and watch for the link response. Start with one device so a failed group cannot hide the problem.

Trigger the linked group

Use the Remote to switch linked tools together. For staged feeding, keep separate operational groups instead of attaching the whole factory to one command.

Unlink before redesigning

Remove a device from the group before moving or replacing it. Then retest the remaining group and add the device back deliberately.

Remote not showing in the shop

Read the shop and tool-tab labels, scroll the list, and confirm the corresponding progression point has been reached. A tool shown in a later phase may not be available yet.

Remote not working

  • Confirm it is equipped, not just owned.
  • Use one known switchable device at close range.
  • Aim at the control area and press F; do not aim at the moving product.
  • Verify the physical control still works before blaming the Remote.
  • Check rebinding if F no longer matches your Interact action.
  • Do not troubleshoot Remote linking as though it were the separate Signal system.

Remote FAQ

How do I link or unlink a tool?

Equip the Remote, aim at the tool’s switch or control area, and press F. Use the same interaction to remove it from the group.

Which tools work with the Remote?

Fans are demonstrated in current gameplay. For anything else, confirm its physical switch works, then link and test one device before building a group.

How do I unlock the Remote?

Community result: toggle three different tools at the same time. The full-release unlock notification has not yet been captured, so treat that trigger as unconfirmed.

Is the Remote the same as Signal?

No. The Remote switches linked devices; Signal is a separate grouping or channel system.
